Poemorama Baby!

the poem in progress. . . .

Four quarters to the orange fruit
Four seasons make up a year
Four symbols form the card suits
Four directions have we here

Horsemen come in packs of four
and clovers if you’re lucky
Four wheels rolling out the door
Four turtles with nunchuckies

Quads are pretty popular
just ask a graphing quandrant:
good things come in packs of four
like DNA, they’re constant

My friends at Paper Poetry have concocted a prompt list for National Poetry Month that’s irresistible! Check it out:

I have my own laborious project in the works, but I couldn’t NOT join in Poemorama too. So today I’m taking a little break from my letter ode poems to share the above with you, which is a response to day 4, meaning a 4 line poem. I decided to go with the Tanaga, which I’d never tried before (check out the Poemorama link for details).

And speaking of good things coming in packs of four, here’s one of my favorite ever photographs, made quite a few years ago now on 6th Street.

Thank you, readers! Hey writers: go join in the fun at Paper Poetry!
