POETRY

Un-reposed

Yet another insomnia poem. . . .

all night long the wind
whispered secrets to the trees
underneath the moon

all night long the sky
shone like an amethyst gem
deep down in a lake

all night long the earth
welcomed the life that hides out
while the sun’s awake

all night long the rest
I longed for eluded me
I chased it like the wind
I sang for it to the stars
full of lullaby fire

Awake during the night, brain active, composing poems — again. I scribbled this one down without looking; it’s a miracle I was able to read it in the morning.

Thank you, readers!
