Twilight — XX
With the light fading out of the yard,
the gloom spreading
beneath the trees,
darkness leeching color
from view,
turning the world black and white
while the stars bring their white
fire to the sky, in the yard
new pinpoints come into view,
life spreading
in a bioluminescent display of color
that ignites in sparks under the protective trees.
Little by little, it leaves the tree
haven for the wide
expanse of lost color
that was once the yard,
now it becomes a spreading
universe, viewed
from above from inside the house, the view
extending from the dark mass of the trees
is of so many glowing yellow lights spreading
beneath the white
blanket of the moon, who covers the yard
by degrees with the color
