Post-Run
Post-run, she is made of iron
wearying at the joints but
girded with cardiovascular rivets
that bring her into focus
a roaring woman
a fierce lioness
feet sprinting out a mantra:
I beat this path
I beat this path
I own this path
I am this path
by grace, she yields to the path
as it stretches before her
I don’t have to go out on much of a limb to assume I wrote this in a moment of endorphin rush, post-run! Where are my fellow runners? I know y’all know how this feels! Exercise is part of my daily routine, so here it is in the Daily Epic as well. Readers, thank you!
