Mumbai
Mumbai a name of notes
a singsong name
mumbling by,
the happy rattle of
uprorious life
name full of color
floral outbursts,
heat and flavor
shade under a mango tree
people smiling
people laughing
people living
in a tuneful celebration
that overflows like a fountain
When will I see you?
Mumbai, city name,
name of architectural letters
and strong syllables
growing city
name that moves
from shore to sky
fram a deep harbor
through the gateway
to river banks
down railways
and motorways
into the heart of
a precious jewel
