In Between

Prompt response, polyglot style

turkey slices, cheese, bacon
pickles and pesto
meeting me in between
something else I probably
shouldn’t be eating
but my demanding middle
l’Épicurien
needs to be sustained
and in between health food
the salads, whole grains,
the unsalted nuts of
conscientiousness
from time to time, santé!
it’s nice to squeeze a slice
of something in that
between you and me
makes mes yeux et mon bouche
dans l’espace entre les deux
très heureux

When I thought about “in between” this is the poem that arrived! My daughter is studying French, hence the play between languages for no particular reason. Thanks for reading!
