I haven't heard of that book, but I will look for it! The title alone is a huge draw. I was obsessed with the *idea* of New Mexico when I was a teenager, after reading a novel I found at the bookstore. It wasn't until I was in my 40s that I finally made it there, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It would be a long journey for you from NZ but I hope you get to visit one day! I can't speak for New Zealand, but New Mexico is the polar opposite of Scotland : D
