Florence
Dante’s hometown
exiled him as an enemy
kicked out of town
intellectual stomping ground
politics is so unfriendly
so he set them all to burning
in Inferno town
This poem is in response to Paper Poetry’s excellent Poemorama prompts:
Part II is all about locations, and as I have never been to any of them, I am relying on books, movies, and my imagination. I read Inferno a couple of years ago and loved it! I’m working on Purgatorio now. Thank you for reading!
