Dream
Lumpy and care-worn
my golem
animated by hope
but maligned by reality
I see him sometimes
lurking at the corner of my vision
tempting me to believe
I can still scale the big
rock candy mountain
He sips on lemonade
from the springs
He gives a creaky wave
from his side of paradise
Again this year I’m writing poems to all the Inktober Prompts, and again I have no art partner to accompany me with drawings SO I cottoned on to the idea of typing them out on my Dad’s old typewriter, since that at least uses ink. The kittens jump every time I hit a key. I’m starting to share these a few days in to the month, but I’ve been working on them for a while.
Thanks for reading!
