A teenie, tiny stick of winged ferociousness

Canon 5D mark iii with Lensbaby | photo by author

To catch a dragon
you have to be sly
creeping up like the dawn
since they have forty eyes

You have to be stealthy
hold on to your breath
since in them lives fire
that can roast you to death

A stroke of their wings
knocks the leaves from the trees
and their almighty roar
makes me weak in the knees

They’re quicker than lightning
and almost as fierce
just one little toenail
strong iron can pierce

This great thunder lizard
has taken down knights
he’s feasted on maidens
and warriors in tights

But right now he seems peaceful
just taking the air
adrift on a daydream
a fiend without care

So I’ll focus my camera
and grab my big net
and if you’ll just distract him
I’ll see what I can get
