It isn’t even November and here I am overflowing with gratitude: today, it’s thanks to Blurb for featuring the book form of a project my daughter and I worked on a few years ago. Sometimes, we still work on it; in fact, having this little breeze of attention makes me think we should get down to business with it again. It’s time for a new crop!

Blurb contacted me a few weeks ago about the feature — of course I said yes please! — and even sent me interview questions. You can read the interview here:

Cyanimals: Behind the Book with Amy Jasek

There’s poetry in the book, but not poetry by me. The words are the voice of a younger version of my daughter, who now only writes prose (lots and lots of it). I’m happy I was able to make the book a reality, for her sake. It took a few years but in the end it happened, and thanks to the wonder of self publishing I didn’t have to wait around for a miracle to happen — only the miracle of me figuring out how to use the software and forcing myself to sit at the computer long enough to put the thing together.
